Rogue returns to Tehidy Woods, North Cliffs this December with a wild-magic celebration of winter; Winter Wood!

Follow the path into the Winter Wood and lose yourself in the dreamscape of nature.

Gather, as Old Man Winter weaves flying deer magic with ember tales, and star songs of night’s mysteries as he catches wishes whispered to the changing winds.

Created by Cornwall’s award winning immersive and highly visual Rogue Otherworld,

Twice listed in the Guardian Newspaper’s Top 10 Christmas Walks, and winner of multiple Awards, Winter Wood is a unique festive marvel, set in the heart of the Winter Wood, it is part exhilarating walk through the trees and part gathering in a warm tent where a magical story comes to life.

There will be winter faeries in the woods, who sing, weave wonder and even dance with fire!

There will be a gathering in the wishing trees with Old Man Winter.

There will be the legendary faerie that is Klump!

There will be a brilliant new winter show told by Old Man Winter, with music, dance, song, shadow play and other winter wonders in our warm marquee.

There will be free hot chocolates for the children served by the faeries before the show.

There is a reasonably priced bar that serves delicious hot chocolates for the adults, mulled wine and mince pies, snacks, crisps and other festive treats.

At the end, we’ll all sing together, a song of winter dreams.

Each Winter Wood lasts around 2 hours and includes an enchanting walk that embraces the Winter Wood and the Cornish winter weather before you arrive at the heated marquee. 

The show will go ahead in all but the most extreme conditions, so dress for the weather and the magic of winter!

The experience

  • Arrive and park up 20 minutes before your start time (no more than 30 minutes before your show to help with car park flow). Parking is free.  Directions below.
  • The Rogue Box Office Witch will meet you at the box office at the edge of the woods 15 minutes before your adventure begins.  Dress for the weather and a walk in the woods.  The main part of the event is in our heated maquee.  The paths are laid with woodchip though we recommend boots or shoes for adventure.
  • Follow your path as it weaves through the wild wood and into winter wonder!
  • The path leads to our heated marquee, a theatre of festive marvels. Take a seat, relax and enjoy the show.
  • There is free hot chocolate for the children served by the faeries to seated children before the show starts.
  • There is a reasonably priced bar serving mulled wine, hot chocolates (with the option to make them boozy), beer, wine, soft drinks, minced pies and snacks.
  • There’s a toilet block outside the back of the marquee (including an accessible toilet).
  • When we have all arrived, the show will begin, introduced and told by Old Man Winter.  Let the magic carry you away!
  • The show itself lasts about 50 minutes and at the end we will sing together a winter song.
  • After the show, say goodbye to the faeires and Old Man Winter who will be waiting to bid you farewell.
  • There is a shortcut back to the car park.
  • NB – There is no Wild Woodland Stew at Winter Wood, we’ll be bubbling up the cauldron again in spring!

     Accessibility

    Winter Wood events are accessible for most wheelchair users and rugged buggies.

    There is also vehicle access near to the marquee where the main part of the event takes place, for those who should need (this misses the walk through the woods).

    GENERAL TICKETS £10, £12, £14 (all ages).  You choose the price that is fair to you.  

    3 years and under Tickets £Free

    AFFORDABILITY DISCOUNT £7.50.  Simply email [email protected] to request an affordability discount code.  The witch will get back asap with a code to reveal affordability discount tickets at £7.50.

    WILD CARDS £Free to request (£7.50 to donate). Request a free Wild Card if you couldn’t otherwise afford to come and we will allocate those that are available.  To request a Wild Card email [email protected] or text 07301067700.

    Donate a Wild Card. If you would like to donate a Wild Card, you can do so by simply adding a £7.50 Wildcard to your order and we will allocate the ticket to an unknown friend.

    Arrival

    Please arrive 20 minutes early to be greeted by the Box Office Witch.

    You can arrive up to 30 minutes before your booking time (to keep vehicle numbers down in the car park).

    Please follow the instructions of our parking assistant.

    Winter Wood will run on time like the planets that align.  15 minutes before your start time, please gather at the Box Office.

    The Box Office Witch will be waiting to greet you.

    There is a short cut back to the carpark after the show.

    FINDING US

    Tehidy Woods North Cliffs is situated between Portreath and Gwithian on the B3301.  Rogue uses a separate parking area to the Tehidy North Cliffs Car Park; if approaching from the west (Gwithian) keep your eyes out for our entrance on the right, if coming from the east (Portreath) it will be on your left.
