Rogue Theatre returns to the wilds of Tehidy Woods North Cliffs this December with our enchanting celebration of winter;
Winter Wood; a festival of wonder!
Follow the path deeper into the Winter Wood, a dreamscape of nature and elemental magic as Old Man Winter’s world of stories, faeries and forgotten connections comes life.
Created by Cornwall’s award winning immersive and highly visual Rogue Theatre, Winter Wood is an immersive adventure for families and those who wish to remember the magic we often overlook.

Twice listed in the Guardian Newspaper’s Top 10 Christmas Walks, and winner of a What’s On Cornwall Award 2017 for “Best Theatre Show” Winter Wood is a unique festive marvel to behold, set in the heart of the Winter Wood it is part exhilarating walk through the trees and part gathering in a warm tent where a magical story comes to life and a festival spirit unfolds.
There will be a show with live music, festive stories, winter wonders, a free hot chocolate (or hot spiced apple drink) for everyone, a warm place to relax and the chance to make your own traditional winter decoration to take home.
WINTER WOOD 2020 has been designed with safety in mind for these unusual times and invites you to wind your way through the magic of the Winter Wood in the safety of your household bubble.
The safety measures have been woven into the wonder of the event, we just ask you to follow the path, listen to the Rogues, lose yourself in the wild and be mindful along the way.
(Safety information about your Winter Wood event will be sent to you by the box office prior to your visit).
Each Winter Wood lasts around 1 hour and 40 minutes and includes an enchanting walk through the Winter Wood, a sat down (social distanced) story that comes to life in the Midwinter Grotto, and a place to relax and enjoy a minced pie or some midwinter cheer.
Each Winter Wood experience ends in the Winter Moon’s Refreshment Tent where your Bubble will be invited to relax (with places to sit), to gather your imaginations, make a free decoration and enjoy a festive refreshment you can buy from the bar (with fabulous faerie table service).
There are toilets here too.
There is a one-way path from here (a short cut) that will lead you safely back to your car
Bring a torch, a warm coat, wellies, and a sense of adventure!
The path twists and turns and is bumpy under foot but should be fine for a rugged buggy!

The adventure lasts about 1 hour and 45 minutes and takes place in a marquee and along a path in the wild wood, so come prepared whatever the weather.
Bookings are made in Bubbles.
- When you book for a number of people, we assume that they are part of your household /support bubble.

- There will always be enough space for each Bubble to maintain a social distance throughout the Winter Wood experience.
- Each show has a limited capacity. This is WINTER WOOD with more space for magic than ever before!

ARRIVAL
Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your start time to park your vehicle and to make your way to meet The Box Office Faerie.
Please keep to the tarmac track and follow the guidance of Francis The Parking Man, he is there to help.
You can arrive up to 30 minutes before your booking time (to keep vehicle numbers down in the car park).
WINTER WOOD will run on time like the stars that align.
15 minutes before your start time please gather at the Box Office in your Bubbles.
The Box Office Faerie will be expecting you!

FINDING US
Tehidy Woods North Cliffs is situated between Portreath and Gwithian on the B3301. Rogue uses a separate parking area to the Tehidy North Cliffs Car Park; if approaching from the west (Gwithian) keep your eyes out for our entrance on the right, if coming from the east (Portreath) it will be on your left.
